No matter the Province I’m in, Canada is my home!
Canada, a nation that does more…
Canada is home to approx. 37 million people; sitting comfortably on top of a stretched out continent starting from the north and going all the way to the south of the globe. We, as a nation, must expect more and must take advantage of our country’s multi-diverse population in order to achieve more. As the crown of America, Canada is a nation that does more.
With this, we would like present our new Pilot Project to enhance our Canadian shopping experience, to encourage sales growth and to help our local retailers to increase visibility with an added eco-conscious value to build a greener future together.
We are Selected Sources, a Montreal based marketing agency to deliver the next blueprint in direct marketing. Our team is here to uncover hidden opportunities, help improve product selections for our Canadian market and raise the bar on how we do business in Canada.
Marketing is undoubtedly going to change again in the next decade or so and we want to help retailers take the next step. Canada is ready for the next level and we all want to go green by 2030. Join us to make that leap towards a greener Canada for a greener world. #ImGreenMinded.
Focusing on what’s important…
Why has marketing become so complicated?
Our world has changed so much in past 20 years and shopping is literally at the tip of our fingers with smartphones at our disposal 24/7. Employers are not blind to the fact that their employees are constantly on their cellphones shopping while working; productivity has dropped and this has a negative impact on the economy in the long run.
What can we do to help better the situation?
Imagine giving personal shopping a whole new meaning.
Imagine reaching new heights by customizing the experience to personalize the overall satisfaction for our customers.
Imagine the benefits just by giving extra attention to clients and leaving them with your personal touch.
Where did it all go wrong?
With online shopping out of control, competition isn’t just next door, it’s at every door! Don’t get it wrong, having online exposure is the present and the future of marketing, but it can be costly and never-ending.
In your next team meeting, ask your team the following questions:
How much did we spend on marketing and advertising last year?
How much did we get in return for our investment?
Marketing, advertising and promoting is expensive and we can’t put all our eggs in only one basket.
When do we stay in control?
It’s important to stay in control at all times. We asked ourselves the following questions:
What is marketing? In simple terms, marketing is a plan; a blueprint on how to go about advertising a product or idea in order to promote it.
What is advertising? In simple terms, advertising is to bring awareness about a product or idea in order to promote it.
What is promoting? In simple terms, promoting is the selling of a product or idea.
Seeing is believing…
There is no secret to success…
As any business owner would see it, there is no actual secret to how a company can succeed, but there is a formula for it. We find that breaking down any project to a small matter, we can truly see where are the hidden possibilities and developing new experiences for our shoppers.
With anything in life, we need a solid foundation in order to start building; refer to the man who built his house on sand. With our plans completed, we are now at the body of our business and can focus on the right team to deliver the right message at the right time.
Always make room for growth…
With structure comes progress and with progress we must look forth to growth. As our world is rapidly evolving, we must look ahead and possibly manoeuvre better ways to gain loyal clients.
We find that the hardest part of any business is client loyalty; rapid fashion trends, constant upgrades and pricing does play a huge role in consumer shopping.
It’s a fusion of marketing ideas…
It’s not a hidden secret that Canada is a hub for creative thinking and developing amazing work; we can credit some Canadian celebrities that have put us on the map, but it’s truly the talent behind all the fame and glory that deserves most of it. This is why we’ve decided to give a facelift to direct marketing and give retailers an alternative option in reaching their shoppers at another level.
We work closely with retailers to develop unique methods to attract clients, give retailers the opportunity to increase store visibility and for consumers to save time and money.
Setting your exceptions…
Business 101: What have we learned?
In business, we are taught to complete a business plan in order to have an idea of what the company is about and what are it’s potential goals. Many retailers will have different goals to achieve, but the main goal of any business is to stay in business. As many manufacturers have opened their doors to the public, retailers are yet faced with another challenge, public access to direct wholesale pricing. Just like many businesses, manufacturers have also struggled to stay in business and have taken to external means to offer competitive pricing to the general public.
When setting your expectations…
As a business owner, you’ve realized the increase of promotions that not only your store has been doing, but many others have fallen into the trend of weekly promotions. This is a common mistake that retailers are doing and setting their clients’ expectations too high for it to become a normal habit for shoppers to experience. As previously mentioned, promotions are a means to promoting new stock or to empty old ones and should not be confused with marketing; once we have broken down the terms into proper categories, we are able to proceed with setting newer expectations in order to keep climbing.
Remastering the art of new world marketing…
We want to send the right message, but sometimes the right message may be taken the wrong way and it only takes one comment; pick any social media. Many have either lost their employment or where forced to resign from top executive positions due to the wrong message sent. This can severely damage ones reputation, brand, profits and company image; affecting directly the employees and can result in company cutbacks and downsizing.
By focusing on simple direct marketing, we are encouraging customer interaction, company involvement and building a solid ground for a means of communication; isn’t that really the best form of advertising? Word-of-mouth cannot be mimicked and the results are irrevocable.
We welcome local retailers to enroll into our new Pilot Project to bring great changes to our Canadian shopping experience, changing our surroundings by encouraging a greener environment, bringing life back to our local retailers and overall being more involved.
